One of the most interesting topics at our monthly meeting are family stories. These and historical narratives often lead to some great genealogical discoveries. We have posted some here to assist in your research.

“History of Versailles”
This document is a typed transcription of an audio tape located at the Patterson Library at 40 S. Portage Street, Westfield, New York 14787. According to the annotations the original presentation was given at a public meeting in 1962 by Mr. Eber Russell. Mr. Russell was an amateur historian and resident of the area.

A local history of the Village of Gowanda, New York published in 1898 in commemoration of the fiftieth year since the incorporation of the village. The history includes a section on the Thomas Indian School as well a mentions of several people from the Seneca Nation.
